A MUST READ POST

Hello!

EveryPAWdy! I have just discovered what cat breed I am! Nope, I'm not a tabby cat, I'm a TYPE of tabby cat, among the 5 breeds-

  • Classic Tabby- Looks like a marble cake
  • Mackerel Tabby- Narrow stripes that run parallel down its sides
  • Spotted Tabby- Spots all over its sides
  • Ticked Tabby- Alot like an Abyssinian
  • Patched Tabby- Alot like a tortie cat. (Click here to see pictures of patched tabbies)
My owners believe I am a PATCHED TABBY, but I might be a classic tabby

We thinks you are probably a classic tabby you looks a lot like Socks, at least in the face. Ask your vet they should know but tabby isn't a breed it is a color pattern. For example Socks is a Domestic Short Hair (breed) and a Classic Tabby (color). Have you joined the Tabby Cat Club, it is lots of fun Socks is a member. We can't wait to get to know you better. Welcome to the Cat Blogosphere Wu- Dong. We think you look like a brown classic tabby with white. I love the colour of your eyes -- they look like a deep gold.

Can't wait to see more pictures of you -- and perhaps you avatar. I'm the one who gave the information to Ann (Zoolatry), so if you can't figure it out, I'd be happy to do one for you.

I'm Wendy at http://wendys3-dcats.blogspot.com and http://allaboutlacocoondante.blogspot.com.

Hi WuDong..I'm from ThreeCatYard and as Andrea said, I have some pages on cat genetics and coat types.

From what I could see, you look like a Classic Tabby with White. I didn't see any orange patches - the key is to see if there are any orange stripes. A black tabby can have brown to orange background fur in places without being genetically orange, as my cat Julius Caesar does.

If you have any questions, pop over and ask!

threecatyard-

Thanks! Either cat breed, my owners will always love me!

I think I will have many questions for ya'll!
